It is an absolute thrill to carry on the Hymie’s tradition in our beloved neighborhood. It will be a delight to oversee this tremendous treasure trove of vinyl!

Hymie’s Vintage Records will continue to be the kind of record store that is brimming with diverse eclectic records from almost all genres. A shop that offers music listeners of all kinds the opportunity to browse through a wide collection of used and new records to discover that perfect gem of an album. A place where there’s always a good chance that you’ll happen across something curious that you just have to hear.

Hymie’s on East Lake Street is experiencing its fourth regeneration in the vinyl vortex. You may notice some changes to the narrative, but the core values of the store and its role in the universe will remain the same. Pop in and meet me: the new incarnation of the store owner, Adam. You might also see Britta and our kids in the store from time to time. We look forward to getting to know you!

I am proud to follow in the footsteps of Laura and Dave, Julie and Auralee, and Jim “Hymie” Peterson himself. Hymie’s Vintage Records has been an institution in the community for 33 years and our family looks forward to many many more. Hope to see you in the shop soon!

Wow! Hymie’s is the coolest! And Adam Taylor will take it to the next level! I don’t know anyone more knowledgable about music than Adam. Wish I lived closer so I could stop by more often: hang out, listen to vinyl and drink coffee in those vintage chairs. Cheers Adam and family!
