Time to can tomatoes

We bring a variety of peppers into the shop every fall – help yourself! – but that’s only a tiny bit of what we harvest from our garden. Look at all these tomatoes over-running our kitchen this week!

We have pounds and pounds of great tomatoes crowding our kitchen – this year I grew a few favorite varieties (especially the ever-reliable Siberian) and some fun new ones (like my new favorite the Thesoloniki). If only I could find the time to make a couple jars of sauce!

Listening to this song from Greg Brown’s first album, One Night, really didn’t help. I think it will be a couple days before I find the time – and probably, when I finally do, there will be twenty-five more tomatoes to pick.
