This summer we hosted a big party for Carlos Santana’s 64th birthday. Bitter Roots played a sweet set of Santana songs and customers colored in the jacket for Santana’s eponymous debut LP. The whole thing was inspired by a copy of the album that had been embellished by it’s owner, but it’s not over yet – Nearly every collection of classic rock includes a copy of Santana and once in a while we find another that has been decorated. You may be wondering what will be the subject of our next coloring contest. Neil Diamond’s Shilo? Neil Young’s Zuma? The “White album”? Presently, I am leaning towards an origami contest based on Jethro Tull’s Thick as a Brick. Time will tell….
