5/26 – 3 PM Patches and Gretchen

5/30 – 7 PM Heavy Deeds

6/9 – 3 PM Chokecherry

To us Chokecherry is like one of those old friends you’ve fallen out of touch with but absolutely love running into – We’re pretty sure we remember their “last show” from 2008 but the band has been revived this year. Hearing them at the Hexagon in February you wouldn’t think they’d taken any time off at all because their unique punk rock/country style is as awesome as ever. They’re one of those bands that everyone enjoys hearing, whether it’s for the first time or the tenth – this is sure to be a fun afternoon here in the record shop!

6/16 – 3 PM Ayd Mill Road

6/23 – 3 PM Common Labor

6/30 – 3PM Lonesome Dan Kase

Dan is a genuine old fashioned blues man, fingerpicking everything from delta blues to Piedmont style. Chris Riemenschneider of the Star Tribune described him as a “finger-picking guitar wiz [who] channels the likes of Robert Lockwood Jr, Leadbelly and Son House.” We describe him as an awesome guy we’re glad to know, and even more glad to introduce to you.

7/21 – 3 PM These Unknown

All performances at Hymie’s are free and open to all ages. Any cover charge is voluntary and goes entirely to the artists.  We really encourage you to support the Twin Cities’ amazing community of musicians by buying the CDs, cassettes and records they produce.  Check out our awesome local vinyl selection, and consider buying those recordings direct from artists when you’re at their shows.

All inquiries about booking an in-store appearance at Hymie’s should be directed to Laura Hoenack (Laura@hymiesrecords.com).
