Robert Guillaume was the star of Benson, a TV sitcom based on his popular character from a previous show, Soap. He later starred in the short-lived, controversial Robert Guillaume Show, which I think had only one viewer (my brother). Guillaume also performed the voice of Rafiki, the mandrill shaman from The Lion King.

And he can sing. He’s more recently recorded a couple discs of light pop and show tunes, but earlier recorded this 12″ single for Tomato Records:

This record is special because it’s the last thing Laura bought as a customer at Hymie’s Records before we took on the responsibility of running the shop.
