Pink Floyd wins its lawsuit with EMI

A pretty interesting legal dispute was settled in England today, as a judge ruled on the side of Pink Floyd in their battle with EMI, prohibiting the label from selling their tracks individually. Their albums were deemed to be complete works which could not be sold in pieces. I imagine this decision will echo through the entire world of online music sales (now accounting for most music sales). For our part, we’ll stop selling copies of The Wall track by track through a layaway program. You’ll have to buy the whole thing.

But I really like the layaway program… hey wait, does this mean you’re pulling all the Pink Floyd “The Wall” 45s too!
